The Lift Chi Up and Pour Chi Down Method an External Hunyuan practice

The human life processes are carried out upon different levels. All the various layers of skin, muscles, blood vessels, the vital internal organs (heart, liver, spleen, lungs, and kidneys) bones and cells have membranes around them. In those who never practice chigong, the major flow of internal Hunyuan chi is solely through these membranes. The process of exchanging internal chi with the external chi of the natural world is also carried out within these membranes, layers of skin and other shallow surface layers of tissue.

The goal of the first level - the Lift Chi Up and Pour Chi Down Method - is to enhance these innate functions in order to clear and open the channels along which the chi of the internal membranes is exchanged with the external chi of nature, and to blend the chi of the skin, fascia and tissues with natural Hunyuan chi in order to render them into a seamless unity.

This is a process of employing the mind, imbuing it with the idea of blending and transforming the chi existing mainly outside the physical body; thus, this stage is called the stage of External Hunyuan practice. The main idea of this step is releasing one's internal chi and taking in and absorbing more external Hunyuan chi. By doing so, not only is the quantity of internal chi increased, but there is also an improvement in quality of the chi as well. Moreover, the practitioner can develop the ability to treat others by the Chi -Transmission Method.

Because the functions of the membranes and the sensory organs are enhanced, other levels of superintelligence may also be tapped. For example, chi-vision (the ability to see chi), super-vision (the ability to see through the body and distinguish muscles, bones, internal organs and even nerves and cells), mind-sensing (the ability to know what is going on within the minds of others) and other such abilities may also be accessed.

However, superintelligence obtained through External Hunyuan practice is limited. This is because chi flows mainly through the shallow surface layers and the collateral channels of the body, where the texture of the organs is looser; neither the discharge of, nor the strength of, the chi is great enough to obtain higher-level abilities.

It should be clear that when one does reach the level of External Hunyuan practice, the normal functioning of one's life processes can be insured, and one is completely capable of remaining healthy and preventing oneself from experiencing illness.
